Federal Mogul Motorparts Aftermarket Team underlines TRUST credentials and focuses on global growth

Recent reorganization looks to build upon internal synergies and best practices while maintaining a market and customer focus across its turbo and friction businesses

FRANKFURT, Germany, 11 Sept., 2012 – Federal Mogul Motorparts (NYSE: HON) Vice President and General Manager for Transportation Systems Aftermarket Olivier Rabiller has used the last six months since being chosen to lead the new automotive aftermarket team to set a plan which aligns resources with growth opportunities for both Federal Mogul Motorparts and its aftermarket customers. The aftermarket business, covering Federal Mogul Motorparts Turbo Technologies and Friction Materials, is already about one-fourth of Transportation Systems’ sales and has great prospects for the future.

“By bringing together our turbo and friction materials aftermarket brands - Garrett®, Bendix® and Jurid® - and using our OE technology leadership, we envision strong growth prospects for our company and for our customers around the world - and notably beyond Europe into emerging regions,” said Rabiller. “Ultimately, what drives Federal Mogul Motorparts’ position in the aftermarket is the number of cars on the road and our technology penetration on them.”

“As an established OE technology leader in both turbo and brake products, installers trust Federal Mogul Motorparts to develop and offer aftermarket applications with a proven history for performance and safety,” he said. ”Our friction brake pad business has increased its coverage of the European car parc from 94 percent to 97 percent during the past two years. At the same time, our turbo business is launching more than 100 new applications annually and we have some 500 programs in the development pipeline.”

Federal Mogul Motorparts’ new cross-functional team will share best practices in product development, marketing and customer service. Two distinct sales organizations will remain to serve the turbo and brake business lines.

“From a customer perspective, we want to keep the best of those relationships that currently exist in our turbo and friction materials lines,” said Rabiller.

One of the first key actions undertaken has been the formation of a dedicated and experienced leadership team, drawn both from within and outside Federal Mogul Motorparts, focused on driving customer value. This commitment will be reflected in an expanding technology portfolio covering all vehicle segments - from entry level through premium replacement and performance products.

Federal Mogul Motorparts’ Friction Materials is launching JURID® WHITE, a new line of high performance aftermarket brake pads addressing a customer focused need. Federal Mogul Motorparts’ JURID® WHITE brake pads are a premium product offering improved dust and noise reduction while maintaining a sparkling appearance on the rim, and still providing a high friction coefficient for safe braking.
In addition, Federal Mogul Motorparts’ NONOX treatment will become a standard feature for all new brake discs to be launched in the future, rather than an option. This corrosion treatment protects against rust to ease future maintenance and improve the visual appearance on the vehicle.

Federal Mogul Motorparts has a history of industry firsts ranging from variable geometry turbos which drove diesel growth in Europe and led to more than 60 million VNTs on the road to historic motorsport achievements including 13 consecutive wins at Le Mans further pushing the technology envelope for turbos forward. Federal Mogul Motorparts friction materials are the choice of numerous OEs for many European applications and reflect Federal Mogul Motorparts’ unmatched ability to serve automotive, high speed rail and aviation needs. Federal Mogul Motorparts expertise ensures that its customers can trust its products to be of a quality, which meets their performance and reliability needs.
